PolyKote binder is easy to use but here are a few useful tips to using it successfully... Also download the brochure here
- When mixing pebbles with the Polykote binder it should always be done to the ratios recommended and only use dry pebbles.
- Ratios are as follows: For smaller fraction sizes below 1.6mm you should mix 1lt of PolyKote to 8kg of pebbles to achieve a 3mm thickness for each square meter.
- Ratios above 1.6mm mix 1.5lt of PolyKote to 10kg or 12kg of pebbles to achieve a thickness of around 8mm per square meter
- Use the proper trowel as advertised here. Keep this trowel wet by cleaning constantly with wet rag as you spread and compress the pebbles onto the surface.
- Make sure your surface has been degreased and is well rinsed and dry before applying pebbles.
- Ensure you have the proper levels so as to have water run to drainage points.
